“Is this a timeshare?”
No. There’s no real estate, no presentations, and no contracts. Beacon Travel is a travel membership, not a timeshare, and you’re never locked into any financial obligation beyond what you choose.

“Do I have to attend a presentation to get access?”
No, our travel teams continue to operate and give presentations across the country though. If you get invited there may be a free gift involved.
“How is this different from Expedia, Costco Travel, or Booking.com?”
Beacon operates much the same as other third party booking sites but our prices are straight wholesale! We make our money from our memberships and you get to recoup your costs in your first few trips booked on beacon.travel! They make money by marking up your bookings, even Costco Travel marks up 18% on average. We don’t, because you’re a member, not a customer.

“Can I see the prices before I join?”
Check out our pricing examples section for examples. If you have questions about a specific property please feel free to get in touch and we will do some research for you. Because we operate on closed-loop pricing, full access is for members only. But we’re happy to give you examples of real savings, just ask.
“What do I get with each membership level?”
The silver and gold memberships are nearly identical with different durations. The Platinum membership has a much lower annual cost and is loaded with extra benefits including giftable logins, unlimited booking, and a free all inclusive vacation just for joining!

“How much can I realistically save per year?”
Many members report saving $1,500–$2,000 per week of travel — and households that vacation 3+ weeks a year save more than $5,000 per year on average.
“Do you offer flights?”
Yes — flights can be booked through beacon.travel, but airfare is not discounted due to FAA regulations.

“Is this a monthly subscription?”
No monthly billing. Just one membership payment plus optional annual dues to keep your booking and concierge access active.
“What happens if I don’t travel every year?”
Your account will still be there! You can pause or skip annual dues until you’re ready to travel again, and your account will still be waiting for you.

“Are these real hotels and cruise lines?”
Yes — everything on beacon.travel is real. We pull from the same inventory systems as Expedia, Booking.com, and AAA Travel, but you book at wholesale rates.
“How do the concierge and reward points work?”
Your concierge is like your personal travel agent, included with every membership. You also earn points on every booking, which can be redeemed like cash.”

“Can I book for other people?”
Yes! You can book for as many family and friends as you want whether you go on the trip or not. You can also send a one time booking access to anyone you with any membership tier. The Platinum Membership includes two giftable full logins each year, which you can reuse annually.”
